Hand-woven on ancient bamboo looms by women weavers of the Bodo tribe from India. Made from 100% cotton, using eco-friendly dyes. Tribal motifs inspired by the local landscape are used to create this collection. Gome Aagor as the motif is called locally, is a stylized interpretation of wheat grains growing in fields. In a lovely neutral palette of wheat, white and black. Machine washable – cold, delicate cycle.

This striking product is hand-woven by an artisan cooperative in Assam, using zidagar-frame looms. The co-op of indigenous Bodo women creates intricately woven stylish pieces and incorporates traditional Bodo design elements and skills. This cooperative was formed in as a project of a local non-governmental organization to tap into the existing skills of Bodo weavers and expand income opportunities for women. They made a commitment to work specifically with the poorest of the weavers; the group steadily grew, forming a trust that now employs over one-hundred local weavers.
