Kris Batcheck: co-founder & executive director
Kris started Four Winds with her husband Mark back in 1999. After returning from several years living in Indonesia, she wanted to find a way to stay connected with the beautiful craftsmanship available there as well as provide income for people in economically challenging times.
Since that time she’s fallen in love with helping at-risk women and communities around the world find markets for their products while at the same time earning sustainable income to feed their families, send children to school, and invest in their own futures.
When she’s not working, Kris loves gardening, traveling, & spending time with her husband and two children, David and Lauren. Oh yeah, in her spare time, she’s also finishing up her Master’s degree in Clinical Counseling at Ashland University!
Mark Batcheck: co-founder & jack of all trades
One of Mark’s main passions is partnering with others to create enterprising solutions to poverty. Alongside his wife, Mark helped create and launch the Four Wind’s concept, works on new partnership development, and runs the business & website operations.
Mark also works at Gracehaven, a Central Ohio-based nonprofit that provides comprehensive care for sexually exploited youth.
For fun, Mark loves spending time with family, catching the largest fish among friends when on vacation, and brewing his own specialty IPAs.
